Naturally, I would like to start off with a short explanation of why this blog is called "Seeking Alethinos." Alethinos (pronounced uh-lay-thin-oss) is the transliterated (spelled out phonetically, or how it sounds) version of one of the Koine Greek words for "truth." However, this form of the word for "truth" has the sense of being real and not only matching something in appearance but is, in fact, the same nature of the thing being referred to as "truth." In Revelation, there is a scene described in which Jesus the Christ is referred to as "the true one," but the word alethinos is used in this context (Revelation 3:7). He is being referred to as the real, concrete, true and the one worthy of being called the Christ. He is called the alethinos one.
So, that is what I am seeking: to become more and more like Christ. I hope to be a reflection of Christ in such a way that as people look at me and see me, they can truly see Christ in me. I am Seeking Alethinos.
